What Trade Signals We Are Looking For?

We use an AmiBroker feature, AmiBroker Formula Langage, AFL to scan the entire 774 stocks listed in Singapore Exchange, SGX. As at 31 January 2014, there are 774 stocks listed in Singapore Stock Exchange. We use MACD signal to scan the stocks. The script identify stocks have the following MACD signals. i) MACD line crosses up MACD signal, ii) MACD line crosses up zero line, iii) MACD Histogram positive Divergence, iv)  MACD line crosses down MACD signal, v) MACD line crosses down zero line, vi) MACD Histogram negative Divergence.

MACD stands for Moving Average Convergence Divergence. The indicator is made up of 2 lines, MACD line and signal line.

 

Why Use AmiBroker AFL?

The entire scan of near eight hundred stocks only take less than ten minutes. However, if you will manually scan through the entire stocks, if each stock takes 1 minutie, 800 stocks will take 800  minutes. It is more than 13 hours.

AFL is a programming language that allow you to program your trading strategy.
